Bachelor of Law through Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (1982-1986). Assistant Professor (hired through competitive examination) in Civil Law at the Law Department of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (1993-2003). He’s the author of articles published in collective works and in several specialized magazines (Revista Forense, Revista de Direito do Consumidor, Revista de Direito Renovar, Revista da Associação dos Advogados do Rio de Janeiro – AARJ, Revista da Escola da Magistratura do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, Revista de Processo, Revista do Ministério Público do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, among others). He also was a lawyer and partner at the firm Sergio Bermudes (1987 – 2002). He lectured and gave courses related to legal subjects in several cities throughout the country, and also during the XVII National Conference of the Brazilian Bar Association (Rio de Janeiro, 1999). He was elected as an Effective Counselor of the Brazilian Bar Association, Chapter of the State of Rio de Janeiro (three-year period: 2007 – 2009).
